Israel’s parliament is strongly against the “unilateral recognition” of a Palestinian state, with 99 of the 120 Knesset members voting in favour of a government declaration to this effect on Wednesday. “The Knesset today voted by a large majority against the attempt to dictate the establishment of a Palestinian state,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after his conservative Likud Party released the vote’s results.
