The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on the leading Russia’s leading tanker group Sovcomflot (FLOT.MM). The decision was made to reduce Russia’s income from oil sales, which it could use to support the invasion of Ukraine, according to Reuters. The US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has also identified 14 oil tankers as property in which Sovcomflot has an interest.
