Russia’s heightened activity in southern Ukraine following the downing of the Russian A-50 AWACS aircraft has been detected, Natalia Humeniuk, spokesperson of Ukraine’s Southern Operational Command said on national television on Feb. 26. “They are now making maximum efforts to find a suitable replacement for the A-50 that was unexpectedly grounded for the Russians,” Humeniuk said.
