A worried dog owner who has spent about £1,500 on vet bills has alerted the community to the dangers of walking their dogs by the River Trent. The owner of two dogs, who asked to remain anonymous, takes her pets along the Trent in Holme Marsh, Holme every day and is hoping to raise awareness of the dangers of fishing hooks. Having lived less than 500m away from the river for 12 years, the owner said she has now had to take her precious pets to the vet four times since September 2021 to have fish hooks removed.
