The Hong Kong government on Friday released the draft of a controversial new national security bill in the Chinese special administrative region, which includes life sentences for treason, insurrection and sabotage offences. The draft bill has reached Hong Kong’s 70-seat legislature, known as the Legislative Council, or LegCo.
