The German Police Union (GdP) has called on the interior ministers of Germany’s states to agree on a joint concept to combat the growing violence of left-wing extremist groups. “The greatest threat to our democracy comes from right-wing extremist groups who want to abolish our constitution, but that is no reason to pursue left-wing violence with less pressure,” the GdP’s national chairman, Jochen Kopelke, told dpa.
