The planned removal of a timber crossing into Birchanger Wood is a bridge too far for critics. Trustees of the 69 acres of ancient coppiced woodland have reluctantly announced that they will dismantle the structure behind Wickes, on the Goodliffe Industrial Estate, on Saturday, April 6, because it has become unsafe.
