An aid convoy carrying food reached the north of the embattled Gaza Strip via a new military road, the Israel Defense Forces have said. Six lorries carrying aid from the UN World Food Programme (WFP) entered the north of the territory via the so-called 96th gate as part of a pilot scheme to prevent the aid from falling into the hands of the militant Palestinian Hamas organization, the IDF said. The lorries had previously been checked at the Kerem Shalom Crossing. The results will now be presented to the government, the IDF said.
