The number of first-time unemployment claims in Florida remains relatively low, with an estimated 5,752 applications filed during the week that ended March 9, according to a report released Thursday by the U.S. Department of Labor. Last week’s total was down slightly from 5,799 claims filed during the week that ended March 2. The state has averaged 5,807 claims a week since the start of 2023.
