The homeowner accused of staging a cockfighting operation used for illegal gambling on his property will remain in jail ahead of a trial, a judge ruled. An Atlantic County Superior Court Judge gave the ruling during a detention hearing on Tuesday for Jose Madera, of Egg Harbor City, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said.
