Town councillors have granted £10,000 to keep Bishops Stortford Community Transport CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) on the road. The organisation has already raised £27,000 towards the cost of a second-hand minibus and will use the cash to meet the purchase price. The registered charity operates a fleet of three vehicles in total, providing not-for-profit hire for community groups in the town including Age Concern, and also runs the Stortford Shuttle bus service.
