The skills gap in Germany has recently become most acute in transport professions. This is according to a study published on Friday by the Competence Centre for Securing Skilled Labour (Kofa) of the Institute of German Business (IW), which has close ties to employers. The largest percentage increase compared to the previous year was 89% for bus and tram drivers. Here, 3,594 positions could not be filled with suitably qualified candidates.
