By Estel Farell-Roig A man who spent nearly 13 years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit has negotiated a settlement worth millions in his wrongful conviction lawsuit. Alan Beaman will be paid $5.4m (£4.2m) by the Illinois town Normal, with Mr Beaman bringing the suit against the town and three retired officers who he says fixed the case that landed him in jail back in 1993 for the death of Jennifer Lockmiller, his ex-irlfriend at the time.
