According to headlines last year, by 2050 Kent’s coastline could look very different as a result of rising sea levels. The Daily Mail reported areas could be underwater and “may have to be abandoned because of rising seas and coastal erosion”. Much of the Romney Marsh, Sheppey, Isle of Grain and Hoo Peninsula would be swamped.
