Investigating authorities in Germany suspect that a pedestrian who was killed in the western city of Mönchengladbach was deliberately run over, a police spokesman said on Sunday in response to an enquiry. The pedestrian died of his serious injuries in hospital after the incident, he said. A driver hit the 33-year-old with his car on Friday and then sped off. There was also a passenger in the car.
