The Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand from ASUS announces the release of two new gaming monitors, each with unique features that are unmatched in the world. The monitors are designed for eSports enthusiasts who appreciate lightning-fast refresh rates, as well as for users who require accurate color reproduction and high pixel density.
The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG is the world’s first glossy WOLED gaming monitor, and the ROG Strix XG27UCG is the world’s first dual-mode LCD monitor. ROG also introduced firmware updates for the Swift OLED PG32UCDM and PG27AQDM monitors.
ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG
The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG is the world’s first gaming monitor to feature a glossy WOLED panel. This panel, combined with the latest OLED technology, enables the XG27AQDMG to deliver vivid colors, crisp images, and the darkest shades of black in all lighting conditions. It also delivers 20% brighter images than previous generation ROG Strix OLED monitors.
While OLED displays offer incredible color reproduction and lightning-fast response, some users may experience flicker when activating the variable refresh rate (VRR) feature due to the fact that the OLED pixels are controlled separately. This is further exacerbated by significant fluctuations in refresh rate and the sensitivity of the human eye to changes in relative brightness, especially in dark scenes. To solve this problem, a new OLED Anti-flicker technology with three refresh rate settings (high/medium/off) was proposed. Selecting the optimal mode reduces flicker by changing the refresh rate within the appropriate range.
The ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG is a QHD (2560 x 1440) OLED gaming monitor that also boasts a stunning 240Hz refresh rate, an ultra-fast 0.03ms (gray to gray, GTG) response time, and compatibility with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology, which delivers an extremely smooth, tear-free image. Unlike monitors that have a power adapter built into the case, the new ROG monitor is equipped with a separate adapter, which lowers the operating temperature and reduces the risk of burn-in of the OLED panel. Additionally, the XG27AQDMG comes with a dedicated heatsink and ASUS OLED Care features for additional panel protection.
For convenience, the XG27AQDMG has a compact stand that takes up minimal desk space and a built-in smartphone holder to keep your mobile devices within easy reach.
ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCG
The 27-inch 4K ROG Strix XG27UCG is the world’s first dual-mode LCD monitor, allowing users to easily switch between native 4K resolution at 160Hz and Full HD resolution at 320Hz with a hotkey. The 4K Fast IPS panel has a pixel density of 164 pixels per inch (PPI) and a 1ms (GTG) response time, delivering extraordinary levels of detail and smoothness for a truly immersive gaming experience.
For added convenience, the XG27UCG’s compact stand frees up desktop space and also features a groove that can be used as a mobile device stand. The XG27UCG offers users a variety of connectivity options, including USB Type-C (DP Alt mode, power), DisplayPort 1.4, and HDMI 2.1.
