Huawei is expected to be working on the Nova 13 series of smartphones. But those expecting its imminent launch may have to wait a little longer, as a new leak suggests that the phone’s launch may have been delayed.
Weibo informant Beijing Digital Master claims that the Nova 13 line is likely to debut in the early third quarter of 2024, most likely in July. Previously, the smartphones were expected to be officially unveiled at Huawei’s Developer Conference (HDC) 2024, scheduled for June 21. So a July launch seems possible.
The insider did not reveal any other details about the smartphone, such as specifications. The Nova 12 series also faced similar delay rumors before finally arriving in late December 2023.
In terms of specs, leaks suggest that the Nova 13 could be powered by the recently launched Kirin 9010 chip, first seen in the Pura 70 Ultra.
The chipset boasts overclocked cores for improved performance compared to the Kirin 9000, and is expected to provide 5G connectivity.
The display will probably have a 1.5K resolution and retain the signature dual front-facing camera. We may also see some improvements to the XMAGE image processing system, and the high-end Nova 13 Pro and Ultra models are expected to have a new basalt finish.
There are also rumors that the Nova 13 series smartphones will support Beidou’s two-way satellite communication technology. This feature will allow users to send and receive messages via Beidou satellites even in areas where there is no terrestrial network coverage.
In addition, there is not much information about the technical characteristics of the Huawei Nova 13 series smartphones.
