Former Slovakian prime minister Igor Matovič led a demonstration in Kiev on Monday calling for the European Union to provide greater support to Ukraine in resisting the Russian invasion. “EU, wake up! Help Ukraine now to defend lives!” was written on a poster measuring dozens of metres erected on Independence Square (Maidan) in the centre of the Ukrainian capital. Otherwise the EU would have to pay a greater price with the lives of its citizens in a few years, the poster said.
