The Xiaomi 15 is expected to be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 smartphone, but several other brands are also vying for the honor. One of them is iQOO, which is rumored to use the 8 Gen 4 in its upcoming iQOO 13 smartphone.
Today, a Digital Chat Station informant shared on Weibo that the iQOO 13 engineering sample is currently being tested with an 8T LTPO flat OLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels or 1.5K.
As mentioned earlier, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The leak also suggests a large battery for the device, but does not reveal its exact size.
Another Smart Pikachu informant previously revealed that the iQOO 13 will feature a 6000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. Its predecessor, the iQOO 12, had a 5000 mAh battery, so this is a significant increase in battery capacity.
The iQOO 13 lineup will also include a Pro model, which is said to have a curved panel with a higher 2K resolution. It will likely have the same chip as the vanilla model, but we have not yet received detailed information on other aspects of the device.
Although the leaks don’t specifically mention a launch timeframe for the iQOO 13 series, it’s unlikely to debut before the expected release of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in October 2024. We will definitely keep you updated with any new details about these smartphones.
