Apple has officially unveiled the iOS 18 update today at the WWDC24 developer conference. Along with the announcement, they released the first developer preview.
Previously, the iPhone 14 Pro and earlier models were limited to charging up to 80%.
One of the important features of the new update is the introduction of additional options for limiting the charging level for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro users. In addition to the existing 80% limit aimed at extending battery life, users can now choose between 85%, 90%, and 95% limits using a convenient slider.
Previously, the iPhone 14 Pro and earlier models were limited to a single option to limit charging to 80%. It’s important to note that this advanced charging capping feature is still exclusive to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro.
Today, Apple also released a developer beta (internal version number: 22A5282m) for iPhone users. The public beta is expected to arrive next month, with a full rollout scheduled for this fall.
