The 58th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has begun in the Czech Republic. At the opening gala on Friday evening, Hollywood star and director Viggo Mortensen accepted the Festival President’s Award from the event’s president Jirí Bartoska. The 65-year-old said it was a great honour to have his work as a storyteller in cinema recognized. Mortensen became world-famous as Aragorn in the “Lord of the Rings” film adaptations.
