A police dog has died after chasing an attempted murder suspect into a lake in Leicestershire. Police have arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder and animal cruelty. Officers were called to reports of a wanted suspect who may have been in the Watermead Park in Birstall, Leicestershire on Wednesday. Police dog, Zyla, was deployed to assist with the search when the man ran off and entered the water. However, Zyla became unresponsive and was rushed to a vet where she sadly died.
