New Delhi [India], July 6 (ANI): The Delhi Police has reported a 27 per cent increase in the prosecution of traffic violators booked on drunk driving charges in the first half of 2024, police said. This concerning trend highlights the urgent need for increased awareness and stringent enforcement of traffic regulations to ensure public safety on the city’s roads. From January 1 to June 30, the Delhi Traffic Police booked 12,468 violators for drunken driving, compared to 9,837 during the same period in 2023.
