A fire Saturday at a Newark elementary school has been contained, city officials said. Around 3:39 p.m. firefighters responded to a report of a fire at East Ward Elementary School, at 184 E. Kinney St., said Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé. The fire was considered under control at 4:11 p.m., officials said. No injuries have been reported. No other information was provided.
