Germany is to import 250,000 tons of green ammonia from Egypt over the years 2027 to 2033 for converting into green hydrogen, the Economy Ministry has announced. The deal has been struck with Fertiglobe, a company based in the United Arab Emirates, with production taking place in Egypt. Both the production in Egypt and the subsequent conversion to hydrogen in Germany will be done using wind and solar energy. The price is expected to come in at just under €4.50 ($4.90) per kilogram.
