German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has wished Donald Trump a speedy recovery after the former US president was shot in the ear during an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on Saturday. “Such acts of violence threaten democracy,” Scholz wrote on the social media platform X on Sunday.
