Spain’s Lamine Yamal added another age record to his name on Sunday when he became the youngest player to appear in a European Championship final, the day after his 17th birthday. Yamal is close to two years younger than Renato Sanches who played in the 2016 final for Portugal at 18 years 326 days. Yamal earlier became the youngest ever player at the Euros at 16 years 338 days in their opening match against Croatia and then also the youngest scorer at 16 years 362 days in the semi-final against France.
