Volunteers from a Newark dessert company helped school children create a sustainable animal habitat. The Bakkavor Desserts team donated reusable items from the company and helped construct and chop logs to create a habitat for children at Barnby Road Academy to observe nature up close. The team designed and created a bug hotel, utilising recycled pallet wood and also created a Herb garden. The Opal Build Day project brought together Barnby Road Academy staff, parents, Bakkavor staff and food bank volunteers to create zones for the playgrounds and gardens.
