Readers may be aware of the attack by Robert Jenrick, MP on social media on some members of Newark Town Council who voted against the widening of the bypass. Mr Jenrick published their names and photographs, thereby putting them at risk. I hope that in future, he will act with more restraint towards people who disagree with him. In political discussions, people can have different opinions and still respect each other. For the record, I attended the meeting as a member of the public and I spoke against the proposal, citing the climate emergency. — Stephen Platt, via email.
