Planning applications are due to be submitted later this year as big changes are on the horizon for how a county handles its waste. Lincolnshire County Council and the area’s seven district councils – including South Holland District Council – whose jurisdiction includes Long Sutton, Sutton Bridge, Sutton St James, Sutton St Edmund and Tydd St Mary – have to bring in a new weekly food collection scheme from March 2026 in order to boost the area’s recycling rates.
