Income from interest-bearing assets helped Spanish lender Banco Santander register a rise in earnings for the first half of the year. The company said on Wednesday it had revised up its revenue guidance as a result. For the six-month period, the lender reported a net profit of €6.059 billion ($6.4 billion), up 16% from the same period last year. Income per share was €0.37, up 19% from the previous year.
