Businesses are reopening today after a widespread power cut hit a town centre following a gas leak. Part of the High Street in Tonbridge was cordoned off yesterday as police restricted access to the area for vehicles and pedestrians. Although the road was subsequently reopened, properties in the area remained without power until almost 11pm. One of the affected businesses was Fuggles Beer Cafe, which lost a day’s trading as a result of the incident.
