Coco Yoshizawa led a Japanese one-two ahead of Liz Akama to claim gold in the women’s skateboarding street event at the Paris Olympics on Sunday. Yoshizawa failed to score in two tricks but landed the highest scoring one of 96.49 points to a total of 272.75 points. Akama had the highest score in the run portion, but missed three tricks to a total of 265.95 points. Bronze went to Brazilian Rayssa Leal, who claimed silver at Tokyo 2020 where she also shared a podium with two Japanese athletes.
