Permission may not be given to hunt wolves regionally when the species’ “conservation status at national level is unfavourable,” the top EU court found on Monday. “That is true even in cases where the wolf does not enjoy strict protection in the region concerned,” a press release from the European Court of Justice (ECJ) said to explain the ruling.
