By Tamas Csonka in Budapest Hungary’s gross domestic product contracted 0.2% q/q in Q2, dropping for the first time since Q1 2023, in a negative surprise below the 0.4% median growth forecast. Economic output in Q2 rose 1.5% year-on-year (chart) in April-June and was up 1.3% when adjusted for working days, missing the 2.4% consensus, according to preliminary data from the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on July 30.
