The European Union sent the first payment worth €150 million ($162 million) from a €400-million emergency fund to the Palestinian Authority (PA) on Wednesday. The fund “supports a substantial reform agenda and paves the way for the recovery and reconstruction of Gaza,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said in a statement.
