Standard Liege midfielder Hayao Kawabe rejoined Sanfrecce Hiroshima, the J-League first-division club announced Friday, two days after their top scorer Yuki Ohashi left for Blackburn Rovers in the English second-tier Championship. Kawabe, capped six times by Japan, spent three seasons in Europe after leaving his boyhood club Hiroshima for Grasshoppers in 2021.
