Germany’s Sophie Weissenberg and American Chari Hawkins were eliminated from the women’s heptathlon at the Paris Games after the first two rounds. Weissenberg clipped a hurdle in her warm-up for the 100-metre race, went down and didn’t start. Medical staff rushed to the track and she was taken off in a wheelchair in tears.
