Age UK, Britain’s leading charity for the elderly, has been ordered to pay compensation after being found guilty of age discrimination. An employment tribunal said the organisation, which claims to want ‘a world where everyone can love later life’, must pay more than £4,000 to a 58-year-old job applicant who was found to have been wrongly treated.
