Operations to drain 1.4 million litres of industrial fuel oil from a sunken tanker in Manila Bay has started, about three weeks after the vessel sank during a typhoon, the Philippine coastguard said on Wednesday. The ill-fated MT Terranova has a total of eight tanks, each containing 175,000 litres of industrial fuel oil, that will be drained during the operation, the coastguard said.
