Firefighters battled a blaze in a field of crops and straw after a combine harvester went up in flames. Five fire engines were dispatched to the scene in Hall Lane, Redgrave, at 4.22pm. A spokesperson for the fire service said around 10 acres of barley and five acres of chopped straw were alight. Firefighters used four hose reel jets, beaters and a misting unit to battle the blaze. The incident was under control by 5.21pm, with crews now damping down the area.
