Shoppers keen to visit a new Aldi announced this week may have to wait longer than they expected. Kent County Council has “paused” vital roadworks needed in Maidstone before the store can open. On Monday, government inspector Matthew Shrigley overturned a refusal of planning permission by Maidstone council and granted Aldi the right to build a new branch off Newnham Court Way, near Notcutts garden centre and the KIMS Hospital.
