Leaders of France’s left-wing New Popular Front (NPF) said crucial talks with President Emmanuel Macron on forming a new government have been positive. Marine Tondelier of the Greens said the meeting earlier on Friday provided “good news.” Socialist Party leader Olivier Faure said Macron recognized that the country’s stability did not necessarily require the continuation of the president’s policies.
