Nine local government areas located in Northern part of Yobe State have been cut-off from Damaturu, the state capital, following torrential rain that resulted in cutting off roads linking the areas with the capital. According to reports, the affected LGAs are: Bursari, Geidam, Yunusari, Bade and Yusufari. Others are: Jakusko, Karasuwa, Nguru and Machina.
