The global shift to clean energy has achieved significant milestones and is expected to continue advancing at a steady rate, according to two new reports by BloombergNEF (BNEF). One of the reports reveals that, for the first time, more than 40% of global electricity in 2023 came from zero-carbon sources. Hydropower contributed 14.7%, while wind and solar provided almost as much – a combined 13.9% – and setting a new record. Nuclear energy accounted for 9.4%.
