Markus Braun, the former chief executive of failed German payment service Wirecard, is to remain in prison, the district court sitting in Munich ruled on Wednesday in response to an application from Braun. Braun has been in custody since July 2020 as investigations proceed. He is accused of commercial and organized fraud and breach of trust, among other charges. A court spokesman said there was a risk that Braun could abscond or seek to conceal evidence, if released.
