The Israeli Foreign Ministry on Thursday said that none of its employees were harmed after shots were fired near the Israeli Consulate General in the southern German city of Munich. The Foreign Ministry told dpa that a memorial service was being held at the consulate to remember the victims of an infamous terrorist attack which claimed the lives of 11 Israelis during the 1972 Olympic Games in the city. Munich police confirmed on the social media platform X that officers shot a “suspicious person” early on Thursday.
