The son of a piper who led soldiers onto the beaches on D-Day has officially opened an 80-metre long 3D yarn depiction of the landings for the first time in the UK. The Longest Yarn is now on display at Southwell Minster, where it will remain until September 27, fresh from its exhibition in Carentan, France to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
