Fears over conflict in Europe have exploded after Russian drones breached the airspace of two Nato countries. One reportedly flew into Romania during night-time attacks on “civilian targets and port infrastructure” in neighbouring Ukraine while another crashed in eastern Latvia the previous day. Bucharest dispatched F-16 warplanes to monitor its airspace, whilst Nato allies were kept informed of the situation, Romania’s Ministry of National Defence reported.
