A 5.1-magnitude earthquake jolted the southern coast of Indonesia’s Java island on Sunday, the country’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said. The quake hit at 4:54 pm (0954 GMT) with its epicentre located 94 kilometres south-west of Sukabumi in West Java province, at a depth of 65 kilometres beneath the Indian Ocean. It did not pose a tsunami risk, said the head of BMKG’s earthquake and tsunami centre Daryono, who goes by one name.
